How to Reposition Steps in a TexAu Workflow

In the TexAu workflow builder, moving individual steps requires a specific approach. Drag-and-drop behavior is limited when steps are already connected, and attempting to drag one step may cause the entire sequence to move together.

This article explains how to reposition steps correctly on the builder canvas.

Steps to Move an Individual Step

If you want to move a step that is part of a connected sequence:

    1. Disconnect the step first

      • Click on the connecting line(s) to remove them.
      • This ensures the step is treated as a standalone element.

    2. Drag the step to a new position

      • Click and hold on the step (not on a connection point).
      • Move it to the desired location on the canvas.

    3. Reconnect the step

    • Reconnect the step to the appropriate previous and next actions in the sequence.

    When a Step Overlaps Another

If you have just added a new step and it overlaps with an existing one:

    • Use the zoom-out control to give yourself more space on the canvas.
    • Drag the new step to a clear section of the workflow area before connecting it.

    Important Notes

    • Attempting to drag a step while it’s still linked may cause the entire group to shift.
    • For complex workflows, plan spacing in advance and use the “Remove” and “Re-add” method if necessary.
