Why is My Workflow Action Duplicating the Same Data Every Time it Runs?

If you are seeing the same rows getting processed every time your workflow runs, it’s likely due to your input file or data store not being updated, or because the workflow is reprocessing already completed entries.

    Possible Reasons for Duplicate Data:

    1. You're Using the Same Input File

TexAu doesn’t track which rows were processed in your uploaded CSV or Google Sheet. If you rerun the same file without changing or deleting the processed rows, the automation will repeat them.

    How to fix it:

    • Remove the already processed rows from your CSV or sheet before re-uploading.
    • Maintain a separate copy of completed rows if needed for tracking.

    2. Watch Row is Not Set Up (If Applicable)

If you're using Watch Row to monitor live changes in Google Sheets, it should only pick up new entries. However, if the entire sheet is refreshed or duplicated rows are added without proper structure, it might run the same data again.

    How to fix it:

    • Make sure you're only appending new rows below existing ones.
    • Avoid editing existing rows while using Watch Row.

    3. Data Store or Loop Mode Is Reprocessing Everything

If you're using Loop Mode, your automation will continuously repeat, including any rows, unless filters or conditions are used to limit reprocessing.

    How to fix it:

    • Add filters or conditional logic to exclude previously completed items.
    • Set an output method that marks entries as processed in your data store.

    Best Practices to Avoid Duplication

    • Maintain a clean input file and clear separation of processed data.
    • Don’t manually re-run workflows on the same dataset unless it’s intentional.
    • Use automation logs to verify which rows were completed in each run.
