Slack is the enterprise messaging and channel-based collaboration platform now operating as a business unit of Salesforce. Founded in 2009 (originally as Tiny Speck) and headquartered in San Francisco, Slack went public via direct listing on the NYSE in June 2019 and was acquired by Salesforce for $27.7B in July 2021, the largest SaaS acquisition in history at the time.
